AIRCALIN HISTORY
Aircalin was created in 1983 under the name Air Caledonie International
as the national airline of New Caledonia using leased aircraft to
service its initial routes.
During the 1980's, services steadily increased including two flights
a week from Noumea to Sydney in 1986, and commenced weekly services
from Noumea to Auckland on the 1st of November 1987. Within the
next 2 years Air Caledonie International had purchased its own Boeing
737-300 and not long after, launched its business class known as
"Hibiscus class".
In 1996 the new AIRCALIN logo was made public and Aircalin become
a member of Air France's frequent flyer program "Fréquence
Plus".
Today, Aircalin has a 3 aircraft fleet and serves 10 international destinations in the Pacific.
