AIR TAHITI NUI HISTORY
Air Tahiti Nui was founded in 1996 with an aim to developing tourism
in Tahiti from key international markets and to provide a high quality,
efficient airline for the people of French Polynesia. Air Tahiti
Nui is a Tahitian owned enterprise with the major shareholder being
the Government of French Polynesia. It commenced flight operations
in November 1998, recruiting its cockpit and maintenance staff from
France and uses a Tahitian cabin crew who are extensively trained
to provide the highest standards in passenger safety and comfort.
Air Tahiti Nui has continued to expand, and now connects four continents
with regular schedules and world-class service. Its recent purchase
of two Airbus A340 aircraft provides travellers with the latest
technology in the skies and secures its world-renowned reputation
over its entire route network.
