GULF AIR HISTORY

1949 - Commenced operations in the Gulf area
1950 - BOAC contributed to the operation
1971-1980 The governments of Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar purchased BOAC's shares and routes expanded to major European and Asian destinations.
1994 - Airbus A340-300 joined the fleet.
1995 - 5 million passengers carried for the first time.
