Jet Airways (9W) commenced operations on 5th May 1993 and has established itself as a market leader. The airline has the distinction of being repeatedly adjudged India’s ‘Best Domestic Airline’ and has won several national and international awards.

Since its inception until end of May 2005 Jet Airways has flown over 53.4 million passengers. During the financial year, April 2004 – March 2005, the airline carried over 8 million passengers. Over 22% of its passenger revenue earnings are derived from overseas sales, thereby earning considerable amount of foreign exchange for India. During the fiscal 2004 – 2005 the airline is estimated to have obtained over 43% of the Indian domestic air travel market.
